SERVICE OVERVIEW
Skills training is designed to provide the community with the targeted training they need to gain the knowledge and abilities necessary to fulfill the specific requirements of their day to day life. Skills training can also be used to re-educate and retrain people whenever new methods or technology comes around.
Some of the tasks that we successfully completed:
- Hygiene, sanitation and Birkas management training for 30 resource persons for 5 days (at least 30% women)
- Training of health workers: In consultation with the community, UNISOD Public Health team selected and trained water management committees in the targeted 6 kebeles of Dembal district.
- House to house visits and community meetings, the project’s community mobilizers visited 2,046 households during the reporting period to disseminate key hygiene and sanitation messages, as well as educating communities on the safe water chain.
- Hygiene education was conducted at the mosques in the 11 kebeles and about 1149 male and 1131 Female received the key hygiene messages and on the importance of pit latrine.
- Providing training for 19 CAHWS for 5 days on gathering and disseminating early warning Information Training on conflict resolution and management for 16 people
- A 5 days training forage seed production and management for 5 families in Dambel district
- WASH Club forums were established in Hussein Gire and lafa Isse schools, a 5 days training were provided to each club forum for the school hygiene and sanitation purposes. The clubs will mainly serve as focal points in their schools and expected to educate other students in areas of WASH.
- Established and train solid wastage, Sanitation, and pit disposal committees for the schools and health centers in Siti and Fafan. A total of 100 students (50% females) were trained in the subject matter and the management of various facilities.
- WASHCO training and Refresher trainings of community Artisans & pump operators
- Strengthened capacity of government and non-governmental stakeholders as well as local partners for sustainable WASH program management
